This page explains what happens to the email address you give us when you sign up to playtest Footy Boss: Aussie Rules Manager.
Who collects it
Sebastian Havens is responsible for your data (the controller under the GDPR). Contact: [email protected].
Why we collect it
To send you playtest invites and news about the game. We rely on your consent, which you give by signing up. We never sell your email or pass it to anyone else for their own use.
What we store
- Your email address.
- The date and time you signed up.
- A coarse platform taken from your browser, such as Windows, Mac or Android.
- Where you came from, if the link you followed had a campaign tag (for example a newsletter). Otherwise this is recorded as direct.
We do not store your IP address with your sign-up. To stop abuse, a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address is kept for up to one hour to limit how many sign-ups can come from one connection, then deleted automatically.
Where it is stored
The list is stored by Cloudflare, which hosts this site, in a Cloudflare D1 database located in Australia. Cloudflare processes it for us under its data processing terms.
Because Australia is outside the European Union, this is a transfer of your data out of the EU. It is protected by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, which are part of Cloudflare's data processing terms.
How long we keep it
Until the game is released and the playtest is over, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.
Deleting your data
Email [email protected] from the address you signed up with and ask us to remove it. We will delete it within 30 days and confirm when it is done. You can also ask for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Cookies and tracking
The sign-up page uses the Reddit Pixel, from Reddit, Inc., to measure how many people visit and sign up after seeing our ads on Reddit. It loads a script from Reddit, sets a Reddit cookie in your browser, and sends Reddit details of your visit: the page you viewed, whether you signed up, your browser and device, and your IP address. Reddit may link this to your Reddit account if you have one. When you sign up, our server also reports the sign-up to Reddit directly, with your IP address, browser details, the Reddit cookie and the Reddit ad you clicked (if any), so it is counted even if your browser blocks the pixel. Your email address is never sent to Reddit.
Reddit handles this data under its own privacy policy. You can block it by blocking cookies or trackers in your browser, and you can turn off personalised ads in your Reddit account settings.
The site sets no other cookies and runs no other analytics.
